The Brazilian Federal Police seized at least BRL 9.5 billion from suspected criminal organizations in 2025. According to the corporation’s director-general, Andrei Rodrigues, the amount - which is not yet final - corresponds to assets seized with judicial authorization, including real estate, vehicles, aircraft, jewelry, and other property belonging to individuals suspected of being part of these groups.

During an event at the Ministry of Justice and Public Security headquarters in Brasília on Tuesday (Feb. 10), Rodrigues presented a summary of police actions. He stated that the increasing seizure of high-value assets is part of the federal government’s effort to confront the economic power of criminal organizations, “decapitalizing” them.

At the same event, the director of the Federal Highway Police, Antônio Fernando Souza Oliveira, reported the main results of the corporation’s actions on federal highways over the past year.

According to Oliveira, the seizure of 48.3 million packs of illegal cigarettes alone represented a loss of approximately BRL 241 million for criminal factions. He also reported the seizure of 44.3 tons of cocaine and 719 tons of marijuana.

In addition, 7,294 vehicles - including cars, motorcycles, and cargo trucks - were recovered, generating an estimated loss of BRL 400 million for criminal groups, according to Oliveira.

Actions against environmental crimes resulted in the seizure of 39,367 m³ of illegally harvested timber and 213.6 kg of illicitly sourced gold.
