The 32nd edition of the Festival of Cubaness will be held in the city of Bayamo from October 17 to 20 next, as a space to distinguish national culture and the Homeland, essential destinations of the country's tradition and memory.

The organizers reported on the main activities planned in the event's program at a press conference held in the Villena hall of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (Uneac).

Magda Resik, first vice president of Uneac, thanked the organizers of the Festival of Cubaness for having chosen this space to hold the meeting, and praised the fact that the event takes as one of its dedications the 65th anniversary of the founding of the organization of the Cuban artistic vanguard.

The Festival of Cubaness will be dedicated to the 205th anniversary of the birth of Francisco Vicente Aguilera (1821-1877) and the 65th anniversary of the speech that went down in history as "Words to the Intellectuals," delivered by Fidel Castro (1926-2016), a figure to whom they will also pay tribute with different theoretical activities within the program.

The 50th anniversary of the Ministry of Culture and the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS) will also form part of the tributes at the next edition of this event that distinguishes the city of Bayamo, Cubaness and the nation's identity.

According to Ridiel Roblejo, president of the Organizing Committee, the Festival will have a total of 13 fundamental areas, where theoretical and dance spaces, as well as those dedicated to children and young people, among others, are grouped.

Theatrical premieres, presentations of new publications and musical pieces will be part of the program designed for these days; likewise, recently completed audiovisuals and other works that propose close dialogues between creators and the public will be screened as special presentations.

Concerts with groups of different sounds and visual arts exhibitions also complement the content conceived for this multicultural event, where history, culture and thought merge in favor of promoting the work of Cuban creators, while dialoguing with international art and the proposals that will be presented in Bayamo during these days.

The 32nd edition of the Festival of Cubaness summarizes in its busy artistic and literary agenda the necessary exchange between creators, the possibility of fostering artistic encounters and nurturing new projects in favor of national culture.
